The Scottish Unionist Youth is the voice of the patriotic, progressive Unionist youth of Scotland. We are the only political youth organisation which stands resolutely and unashamedly for the Union, and stands totally opposed to the twisted separatism of those who actively seek to destroy our UK.

• Defend the Union – We believe that Scotland’s future lies in a strong United Kingdom. The Union which has served us so well for 300 years has far more to offer us yet, and provides us with civil and religious liberty of the kind no separatist Scotland could guarantee.
• Bring Our Troops Home – We believe that British soldiers are being sentenced to die needlessly on Iraqi soil. No British soldier ought to be put into danger, unless they are protecting British citizens. Bring our lads home, out of unnecessary danger.
• Grants, Not Loans – We believe that the present loans system in higher education leads to students running up large debts; this prospect puts off many young Scots from reaching their full potential, especially those who come from a less affluent background. We believe that grants should be made available to all Scots in higher education.
• End the Drugs Misery – Drugs have caused greater devastation to Scottish communities than any other factor. The SUY believe in harsher sentences for the dealers who peddle misery, in more education for young people about the effects of drug-use, and in better rehabilitation services for those recovering from addiction.
• Safer Communities – the SUY believes in creating happier, safer communities, by cracking down on anti-social behaviour and violence. We believe young Scots deserve better vocational services and access to safe, healthy recreation facilities, to steer future generations onto a path of healthy, focused living, and away from the bleakness and boredom which leads so many to drugs, alcohol and crime.
